Join me live (over zoom) for an intimate discovery of the life and poetry of two of India's most celebrated female mystics: Mirabai & Akka Mahadevi. When you register, you will receive a personally selected poem for contemplation and connection. We will use these pieces to approach the writing and her-story of each:
Mirabai is the most famous Krishna bhaktini of north India, with more than 1,300 bhajans (sacred songs) attributed to her. Written in the 16th century, but profoundly inspirational for today, her words will invite your heart into rapture as she points the way toward unconditional Love.
Akka Mahadevi is one of the earliest known women poets in Kannada literature. Akka Mahadevi was a Mystic Visionary for the 12th century Vīrashaiva Bhakti movement in Karnataka, India. She was a Soul Rebel for female emancipation and personal empowerment. She celebrated Shiva as Channamalikarjuna: the one who is tender as the white jasmine flower. Her writing provides a portal to the nature of Reality...along with a delicious invitation to enter and never return.
Join me for a evening to inspire a bigger, bolder Love affair with life itself.
